Christopher Thomas Cullen, MBE, (born 12 August 1957) is a Scottish television and radio presenter, television writer, broadcaster, novelist, environmentalist and former newsreader. He has been contributing to British television and radio for over two decades. He is noted for presenting the television show The Christopher Cullen Show and its radio equivalent Christopher Cullen on Radio, and for presenting the wildlife programme God's Children, and a revival of The Christopher Cullen Show entitled The Return of Christopher Cullen.

Biography

Early Years and Education

Cullen was born on August 12, 1957 in Dundee, Scotland. He was baptised as Christopher Thomas Cullen, although his parents originally decided to call him Christopher Peter Cullen. Cullen grew up in Dundee, and in 1975 at the age of eighteen, he left for Glasgow and studied to become a professional psychologist at the University of Glasgow Medical School.[3] He graduated there in 1978, and returned to Dundee where he worked as a psychologist for four years. In 1982 however, he decided to follow his ambition to work in television and radio, and began studying at the University of Dundee.[4] In 1985 he graduated as a professional newsreader and broadcaster, and went onto pursue a career.

Television career

Cullen's early television presenting work during the mid to late 1980s was mainly as a recurring newsreader on the news program Reporting Scotland. In 1988, he departed Reporting Scotland and began work on the ITV channel news program ITV News at Ten. He remained a reporter for the program until he quit newsreading in 1991, to attempt a successful career in presenting. In 1992, he made a guest appearance on
